As co-founder and president of CM Construction since its inception in 1992, Mary has been instrumental in guiding CM Construction from a small startup into one of the most efficient building contractor business models in the country. Mary also serves as the company controller.
Mary began her business experience as the owner of multiple hairstyling businesses in southern Minnesota after graduation from Cosmetology and Business school. Mary and her husband Chuck have lived in Lakeville, MN for over twenty years, where they raised their children Michelle, Krista and Collin.
Chuck is co-founder and has been Vice President since CM Construction’s inception. He has been responsible for construction operations as the company has grown from a small startup to one of the most respected and successful general contracting firms. Chuck’s vast business experience began in 1974 when he worked for engineering and architectural firms on projects throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East. Early on, Chuck earned respect for his successful handling of Construction Management services in central and southern Minnesota and general contracting for firms that handled both private and public work projects. Chuck has taken the lead on over $800 million in construction.
Chuck’s education includes a background in Construction Management/Business, Engineering Science, and Building Design Technology.
Along with his duties as Vice President, Chuck often serves as Project Manager, prepares bids, administers projects and handles closeouts.
Carlos C. Alderete is a Project Manager and Vice President at CM Construction, where he leads the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects across a diverse portfolio. Since beginning his career in the field as a laborer in 2018, Carlos has advanced through every level of the construction process, building a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of project execution that now informs his approach to leadership and management.
Over the course of his career, Carlos has managed projects spanning infrastructure, K-12 schools, airport facilities, retail/mall developments, and municipal city hall construction, with individual project values reaching up to $28 million. He currently oversees multiple concurrent multi-million-dollar projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard of quality. His path from the field to executive leadership gives him a practical, ground-level perspective that few in similar roles bring to project oversight and client relationships.
Construction and project management professional with 35 years of experience leading projects from initial planning and estimating through procurement, construction, closeout, and final customer satisfaction. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining control of budgets, schedules, subcontractors, materials, and overall project performance. Experienced in coordinating internal workforces and outside contractors, resolving complex project issues, developing estimates and material takeoffs, monitoring costs, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Throughout his career, Darin has held leadership roles including Construction Manager, Project Manager, Division Manager, Senior Estimator, Construction Project Manager, and business owner. His experience includes managing 30–35 projects at a time, overseeing projects from mitigation through completion, coordinating contractors and vendors, controlling costs, developing budgets and forecasts, preparing estimates and proposals, and managing projects from procurement through commissioning. His background also includes high-profile commercial projects, tenant development, government and school district work, and customer-focused construction management.
Darin brings this extensive experience to CM Construction, where his strengths in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and client communication support the successful execution of construction projects. His hands-on approach and broad construction background enable him to effectively manage project challenges, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and maintain a strong focus on quality, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction.
